Students gather collective knowledge of the ancient history of Mexico. After discussion, students chose to either construct a model of an ancient city, create a chart of groups of people over time or reason why Monte Alban was deserted.

Students explore examples of ancient warfare and discuss the various uses of ancient military technologies. Students investigate the origins of biological and chemical weapons and create a classroom exhibit depicting technology and strategies used during ancient battles.

Students are shown photograhs of wall paintings from ancient civilizations that illustrate aspects of life as it was lived in ancient times. They are asked to tell what these illustrations can tell us about life in ancient tiems. Students are explained that they now have the opportunity to create a wall mural that illustrates a day in their lives.
