Classroom Tools & Resources Lesson Plans

Students explore calendars, months, and seasons.  In this calendar lesson, students discuss the days of the week and months of the year. They state their birthday month and create a classroom calendar. 

Students create classroom rules. In this reading and language arts activity, students discuss the importance of rules and come up with rules for their classroom. They all sign the rule page and the teacher takes photos of them following the rules.

Second graders, using Microsoft Word, create a tool riddle.

Students visit the Constitution Center. In this U.S. Constitution lesson, students watch "The Living News," dramatization regarding the Constitutional issues. Students discuss the issues presented in the performances and consider how the issues are represented in the media.

First graders explore other ways to extend an adding patterning by using a classroom tool. They discuss the tool that can be used to extend an adding pattern. Students are introduced to the calculator. They locate the various keys and how to use them. Students practice checking problems on the calculator.

Students discover why recycling is important to Earth. They consider the multiple ways to recycle copy paper. Students transform scrap copy paper with printing on one side into practical classroom tools; an envelope and a drinking cup.

Fifth graders participate in online astronomy activities with hundreds of fun explorations into astronomy as a classroom tool for learning how to theorize, experiment, and analyze data.

Learners prepare and care for a classroom science corner. In this science instructional activity, students contritubute items to the classroom science corner, and invite other classes of learners into their room to share their scientific items.

Students watch a video on the Alaskan native ways. For this Alaskan exploration lesson students examine how the natives knowledge was passed down from their elders and how the Alaskans lived with harmony in nature.  They will then prepare a classroom science fair project based on their own lives and present it. 

Students discover the use of technology in education.  For this learning resources lesson, students create presentations of PDA's and GPS devices to educate their teachers on the latest technological advances.  Students demonstrate the devices for teachers and parents.
