Students make audio postcards to share by recording a message on the computer. They write and revise an appropriate message about an object from home, choose a background, and font colors for the postcard. They arrange digital pictures, and clipart on the postcard.
First graders name objects around the room to identify common nouns. In this common nouns lesson plan, 1st graders also create sentences in PowerPoint and insert clipart to identify nouns.
First graders discuss the idea behind the game of "I Spy...". As a class, they watch their teacher demonstrate the proper way in which to use PowerPoint and how to enter a picture onto the slides. Individually, they enter clipart into their slides and change the background color. They present their seven slides to the class to end the lesson.
Pupils are instructed to use MS Word to complete this assignment. A brief lesson plan is taught on how to use Clip Art to manipulate graphics on the page. They make their name on Word Art and use Clip Art to find fifteen graphics that define things about them.
Third graders examine different types of disasters occurring in our world. They research an assigned disaster on the Internet then create a newspaper to display their information including clipart and digital pictures.
Sixth graders read the book "Bridge to Terabithia," and create their own imaginary kingdom. They write a descriptive essay of their kingdom, and create illustrations using drawings, clipart, and magazine pictures to present their vision to the class.
Fourth graders read and interpret an American Folktale. Students create their own folktale about Indiana. Students use digital cameras and clipart from the computer to create a photo story. Students present their animated folktales to the rest of the class. Students add music to their folktales.
Sixth graders act out dramatic scenes in history. For this historical events lesson, 6th graders choose a historical event to write a skit for. Students then perform and video the scene.
Learners create a Word Document. In this computer skills lesson, students discover how to open, save, and insert clip art into a word document. Learners also practice inserting clip art and text boxes.
Learners are introduced to a higher level creative writing activity, Career Capers. They become familiar with the literary term pun. Students also incorporate writing with computer technology. They complete a worksheet on puns.
