Students adopt the persona of an immigrant child to explore the reasons underlying why families left their homelands. They empathize with the emotional plight of immigrants through creative composition.
Students brainstorm playwrights and choose one for research. They collaborate and storyboard their ideas in groups. They create a finished project using presentation software and create a live presentation to theater classes.
Students participate in an animal research report. They present a PowerPoint presentation to the class and follow specific instructions when it comes to what to include in the report.

Students conceptualize the process for solving a word problem based upon a story created in PowerPoint. They apply formulas for diameter and circumference along with the Pythagorean Theorem to correctly find the solution in the story. Students work in pairs or small groups to determine the answers to questions.
Second graders identify animals with each letter of the alphabet. In groups, they create a PowerPoint presentation which shows the information they have collected about each one. Using all of this information, they create an animal alphabet book and shares it with the class.
Second graders examine the characteristics of animals who live in a pond environment. In groups, they describe the various stages in the life of a frog and identify the characteristics of other pond animals. Using this information, they create a PowerPoint presentation to share their information with the class.
Second graders explore how magnets are used in everyday life, how magnets were discovered, and what objects in our environment are magnetic. Students participate in various hands-on experiments, keep a record of their findings and observations, and present these experiments through a PowerPoint presentation.
