Young scholars explore the concept of complex numbers in polar form. In this complex numbers in polar form lesson, students use their Ti-Nspire to convert complex numbers into polar form. Young scholars graph complex numbers in the polar coordinate plane.
Students investigate how to solve algebraic expressions with complex numbers and then define them according to their specific properties. They also practice plotting points on the coordinate place using sets of complex numbers. Students also identify the subset of numbers that are real numbers.
Students explore the concept of complex numbers. In this complex numbers lesson plan, students use a website to generate their own Mandelbrot sets. Students take notes from a website about complex numbers.
Learners experience online tutorials via technology and mathematics. They participate in problems dealing with diagrams, cosine curves, functions of trigonometry, circles, angles, cubes, slopes, vectors, complex numbers, geometry and calculus.
Learners explore the Mandelbrot Set. They are introduced to the concept of a complex number and function in order to motivate the discussion of Julia and Mandelbrot sets. Students investigate fractals and how they are built.
Students gain practice reading coordinates and plotting points by participating in the Coordinates! Game. They demonstrate and test their skills with graph paper and the Maze Game.
Students explore the concept of reading graphs. In this reading graphs lesson, students read, build, and interpret various graphs using graph paper and Graph Sketcher.
Students explore the concept of graphing functions. In this graphing functions lesson, students graph functions by hand and by using the Graph Sketcher Tool. Students graph linear and quadratic functions.
Students explore the concept of transformations. For this transformation lesson, students use an applet that is an interactive absolute value graph applet. Students manipulate the applet to examine the change in the function and how it relates to the graph. Students use an interactive website to manipulate quadratics.
