2nd graders research recipe sites on the Internet. In this research lesson, 2nd graders search for crab cake recipes on bookmarked sites. 2nd graders print pictures of crabs and the recipe they chose. 2nd graders then categorize, compare and contrast ingredients.
Students explore figurative language through poetry. In this poetry lesson, students view a video segment regarding the Cuban crab migration. Students use similes and metaphors in poetry they create based on the journey the crabs make.
5th graders research the King Crab. In this making predictions lesson, 5th graders are introduced to facts about the ocean. 5th graders then predict what their story will be about. 5th graders write letters to local seafood restaurants asking for donations for a party.
