Students examine storytelling in a cross curricular unit. Language arts, social studies, science and math are all incorporated in this project as well as technology through the use of Hyperstudio.
Learners explain the causes, course, and consequences of the United States' role in World War II.
This lesson has students use maps to locate and label the major rivers of North and South America. Using the internet, they identify forests, grasslands, mountain ranges and other landforms on the continents as well. They compare and contrast the lengths of the Amazon, Mississippi and other river systems.
Students examine Department of Labor statistics to discover the increase in prodictivity. They defince productivity and its importance for economic growth. Students explore the influence of the September 11 terrorist attacks on productivity and answer questions about the lesson.
Students discuss and research the Gross Domestic Product and the importance of productivity changes for economic growth. They respond to questions about the relationship between the GDP and productivity changes and the effect on employment. They predict what might happen to unemployment if productivity grows rapidly during a slowly recovering growth in real GDP
7th graders develop proficiency using the AutoSketch technical drawing software. They communicate a visual design as part of a comprehensive solution. They use the Draw, Edit, Drawing Options and View pull down menus to create and edit a technical drawing.
4th graders, after visiting two specific websites, examine a list of committees and their working issues in New York City. In essence, they identify local issues of concern and locate those who can influence or change those issues of concerns.
