Learners explore eight career and technical areas and make connections with business, family and consumers, and technology. They examine and describe how agriculture and natural resources impact our quality of life. They explore and identify emerging technologies and careers in agriculture.
Learners explore eight Career and Technical areas and make connections with business, family and consumers, and technology. They examine and describe how agriculture and natural resources impact our quality of life. Learners recognize and explain how the agricultural system works and identify related corresponding careers in agricultural and forestry production.
Students write effective headlines for a story. In this writing headlines lesson, students discuss the purpose of a headline and identify great headlines. Students work in small groups to read stories and write headlines. Students then discuss their headline and compare it to the real headline. Students complete a worksheet practicing the skill of writing a great headline.
This lesson has learners create two different types of graphs from the information in the "Farm Facts" booklet (i.e., bar graph, pie chart, etc.). They calculate where your food dollars are spent (on and off farm).
Learners brainstorm about video games that are designed to teach. They create and perform in small groups a live action "video game" that teaches a concept covered in class this school year.
This lesson has students explore current events. In this cross-curriculum lesson, students read and answer questions about the various articles included in the magazine.
Students enjoy winter activities. In this field trip opportunities lesson, students may visit the Royal Botanic Gardens, Bocketts Farm, Clapham Common, or the Dinosaur Museum online or in-person.
