This lesson has 6th graders build wilderness vocabulary and use the words in sentences. In this ELD vocabulary lesson plan, 6th graders watch a film that includes all of the wilderness/forest vocabulary that is included in the lesson. They write the words and their definitions before using them in sentences.
Learners view and explore different types of ecosystems found in our environment. Learners study, discuss and view examples of 7 vocabulary words associated with ecosystems. In this lesson learners draw examples of different species found in ecosystems and write about each one.
The student explore consonants. In this letter "b" lesson, the student will complete various activities to reinforce the sound associated with the letter "b". He/she will work one on one with a teacher to identify words that begin with "b" and will be assessed upon completion of the lesson.
In this lesson students brainstorm on what they believe causes the Earth's magnetic field. After watching a video, they discuss how the magnetic field is shifting and losing strength. To end the lesson, they work together to test the magnetic field with different types of magnets.
