Learners investigate the geographic and cultural differences in Europe. In this social studies lesson, students research and describe the philanthropy of different European nations, while charting and comparing them to each other.
Students study the Titanic disaster. For this research skills lesson, students watch "Turmoil in 20th Century Europe," and then discuss how experts have provided the public information about the disaster. Students research the disaster and design scrapbooks that feature their findings.
Students discover the importance of the Crusades to the expansion of trade. After researching the Middle Ages, they brainstorm methods of transporting goods from Asia, India, and the Middle East to Europe.
