Students explore the letter "B" and bees through a variety of subjects. In this trans-disciplinary unit, young students are introduced to bee's as God's creations, and the letter "B", through math, penmanship, reading, science, art, etc. Multiple activity ideas are given for each subject.
Second graders practice their creative writing skills in this lesson. Using the order of words, they write a story on a topic of their choice. They are assessed on how well they follow directions and their penmanship. They may share their story with the class if they choose.
Second graders read and summarize information about the wagon train. In this wagon train lesson, 2nd graders complete a wordle. Students use the word wagon make an original flipbook. Students write original short scripts to describe the wagon train. Students build a wagon for the wagon train.
Sixth graders are assigned a safe e-mail address and instructed how to use the e-mail account. A digital camera or scanner be used to create digital photographs of Students, and word-processing software be used to create the messages sent.
Students explore a school autograph book from the 1880s and create a contemporary version of it. They imitate the style of the autograph book entries as they write thoughtful text and rhymes.

Seventh graders engage in a series of activities designed to be a fun week enabling students to experience life in Germany. The activities are aligned with state objectives and could be applied to any country of interest to Students.
Students, in groups, create clip art posters of rhyming words showing both singular and plural possessive forms of nouns. They also work textbook and worksheet activities.
Eighth graders read and respond to the novel "Across Five Aprils" by Irene Hunt. The cooperative novel study is done in conjunction with a study of the Civil War. They use reader's journals and e-mail to create a presentation for the class.
Students explore the value of personal written communication as compared to the use of e-mail or text messaging.
Students compare and contrast school life today with that of Pennsylvania in the 1900's. In this school life instructional activity students create a description of a typical one-room schoolhouse. They think critically about attending school in a multi-grade one-room schoolhouse in the 1900's in Pennsylvania.
