Eighth graders teach Grade 3s. They exercise their potential to be role models for younger students and begin to understand the importance of building self-esteem in themselves and others. They speak publicly, share knowledge and learn actual teaching strategies. They participate in active evaluation of their own work and the work of the Grade 3 students.
Students are introduced to teaching strategies for meeting the needs of students with disabilities in general education settings. Teachers become familiar with the various modifications, interventions, accommodations and strategies that help teach students with disabilities in general education.
