Third graders investigate Darwin's theory of adaptation by investigating animal characteristics.  In this animal life lesson, 3rd graders analyze different predators, the animals they prey on, and the different attributes they each have.  Students collaborate in groups to research one specific bird and share their information with the class.

Second graders review the basic needs of an animals who live in the ocean and their characteristics. In groups, they describe how the ocean can support different types of plants and animals. They create a PowerPoint presentation explaining the interdependence between plants and animals and observe ocean animals at the zoo.

 

Etosha: Poppin' Out at You

Tenth graders research an African animal of their choice and relate the concepts of population, climate and biodiversity to their animal. They examine how population interacts in an ecosystem.

African Animals

Second graders choose an African animal they wish to research. In this African animal lesson, 2nd graders use ReddyNote to research the habitat, diet and location of their animal. Students type up paragraphs on each category and arrange on a poster board for presentation to the class.
