Fifth graders explore the lives and work of Galileo, Percy Julian, Linnaeua,and Ernest Just in this four lessons unit. The observations are made through the analysis of "fanny packs" belonging to these scientists.
Learners research and they role-play the behavior of plants and animals in a salt marsh habitat as the tides change.
Learners watch a slide show presentation of a Coral Reef and discuss its inhabitants. They make a coral reef cake demonstrating the layers and components using different foods.
