Ninth graders examine the advanced techniques in designing, presenting and evaluating multimedia presentations. They research the process of creating an effective resume and design a multimedia presentation. They practice critiquing projects by other classmates.
Students analyze popular feelings and beliefs about two major disasters: the sinking of the Titanic (1912) and the explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger (1986). They compile evidence, through research and interviews, about how much people respected, relied upon, and admired technological progress in the case of Titanic as well as Challenger, and develop multimedia presentations about how these tragic disasters affected popular opinion about technology.
After being introduced to multimedia presentations, students will create a multimedia presentation including text, images, and sounds. They will also assess how to create links between pages and incorporate items into their presentations from music, art, history, design and technology.
Seventh graders pick a candidate for "Hero of the Universe." They research their candidate in the library and classroom. After completing a written report, 7th graders bring their information to the computer lab and create a multimedia presentation using Corel Presentation software.
Students choose one important theme about their life and create a multimedia documentary. In groups, classmates assist each other with the use of hyperlinks, digital cameras, and photo editing software. Each pupil shares his multimedia presentation with the class.
Students research, write, edit, revise and present a paragraph, using the computer and multimedia presentation software, about the animal of their choice. They are encouraged to use technology in both the research and presentation portions of the project.
Fourth graders examine media elements such as text, digital cameras, scanners, sound, and video prior to producing projects and presentation. They design and produce a multimedia presentation based on a topic they research. They present their final products in class or school functions.
Elementary learners will create a multimedia research presentation. They are assigned different topics to research. Exploration of different types of multimedia software are examined in length. Essential questions and recommendations are included.
Students become familiar with local community life by gathering information and designing booklets which become part of a bulletin board display about the community. Each student creates a slide to contribute to a class presentation about the community and participates in presenting the information to students from a different community.
Students explore French geography, history and culture. They imagine that they are a tour company that is trying to promote the trip to prospective customers. In addition, they make travel arrangements in French, practice computer skills, and present information orally and in writing.
