Students examine the French draft law to ban religious symbols from public schools. They research "secularist" and "pluralist" positions regarding this ban, debate the topic in class, and draft a position paper on the ban.

Young scholars explore different perspectives on withdrawing troops from Iraq. They examine the endings and consequences of other major conflicts in modern history to gain further insight into the situation in Iraq and its uncertain end date.

Students explore the emerging budget flight industry and the resulting increased competition among airlines. They compare a budget airline with a legacy carrier in terms of cost, corporate profile, flight statistics, amenities, and convenience.

Discuss and reflect on the concept of ally and alliances. They examine the competition between the United States and Venezuela. Using the New York Times, they search for examples of geopolitical alliances. They write a persuasive essay in support of either the United States or Venezuela.
