Exploitation is a real issue for the disabled community. Secondary Special Education students learn what exploitation is, their personal rights, and how to say no. They focus on finding a trusted adult to get help if they have been taken advantage of. Such an important lesson. Intended for students with moderate developmental disabilities.
First graders develop the skills needed to improve writing skills. They use different practice writing prompts to use different styles while looking at the characteristics needed. Students make connections to their lives while writing and then write reflectively.

Students participate in a role play activity were they are an engineer for an amusement park. Students must create a working scale that includes change in motion, speed, or direction. They label their diagram.
Second graders investigate animals and how it adapts to its environment. They write notes and gather information on a chosen animal. After research is completed, 2nd graders create a report about the animal's characteristics, appearance, food, and habits.
