Students explore statistics of height using a set of given measurements. In this measurement lesson, students create a plot showing the heights of some students in their class. Students calculate the extreme values and median for the height data. Students also construct a box-and-whisker plot to summarize the height statitistics.
Young scholars engage in a lesson that is about finding the statistical value of a problem that is posed. They must read carefully through the entire problem and use notetaking skills in order to take down all the details. Then students use inductive reasoning to solve the problem with statistics.
Students analyze and interpret data related to the crew and passengers of the Titanic. They research information on a Titanic database to illustrate specific statistical conclusions, and whether or not social status affected the outcome.

Students review previous concepts (GIS is a tool, data from other sources can be used together, GIS stores data and this data can be retrieved). Then, they discuss value and accuracy of point information and the areas between sample locations. Students then compare soil type layer and yield map and complete a Zonal Statistic graph.
Young scholars investigate statistics. In this secondary mathematics lesson, students select and area of interest and prepare a questionnaire on that topic to be used to survey members of the school community. Young scholars produce, distribute, collect, and tabulate the data from their survey questionnaire. Students use EXCEL to graph the data in order to present findings to the class.
Students explore statistical mean. In this calculations lesson, students calculate statistical means and the weight of various planets in the Solar System. Students construct an abacus, an ancient means of calculation.
