Students practice identifying different parts of a sentence by viewing sample sentences on a computer. In this formal writing activity, students analyze spoken sentences on their computer and practice writing coherently using the techniques they've observed. Students practice speaking and reading while being recorded by their teacher.
Students explore communication through writing by analyzing individual sentences. In this friendly letter writing activity, students practice writing compound sentences and identifying sentence fragments which should be removed. Students discover the five parts of a friendly letter and write their own after completing a sentence combining worksheet.
