Students describe objects using only their sense of touch. In this lesson plan on describing characteristics, students use only their sense of touch to describe an unseen object in a box. This lesson plan can be used an an introduction to plant and animal classification or taxonomy.
Students, through demonstration and example, write and answer questions at different levels of Bloom's taxonomy.
Fourth graders examine flowers. In this science lesson, 4th graders discuss taxonomy classes and view taxonomy of a flower using the internet. Students complete a worksheet.

Students read the November/December 2010 issue of Click Magazine. In this critical thinking lesson students read articles, stories, and poems in the magazine. They strengthen their listening, reading and writing skills with the various activities.
Students read and evaluate the November/December 2010 issue of Ladybug Magazine. In this analysis activity students read several articles and stories in the magazine and respond to comprehension questions. Students literacy skills are strengthened through activities with each article or story.
Students use various reading strategies to increase comprehension. For this fall season lesson, students read articles from Ladybug Magazine about fall, leaves and acorns then do leaf rubbings. Students write sentences pretending to be an acorn. Also in this issue is an article about the zoo. Students read about a trip to the zoo and focus on new vocabulary words.
