Students strengthen leg muscles while learning about the environment. In this environmental activity, students use scooters to pick up poly spots from the floor. The poly spots are metaphors for trash.
Fifth graders participate in aerobic exercises. In this physical fitness lesson, 5th graders discuss the relationship between heart rate and aerobic walking. Students calculate their heart rate after participating in a moderately intense walk. They discuss the health benefits of regular physical activity as well as good eating habits.
