Students examine how professional athletes conduct themselves at sporting events. They research a favorite athlete, collect news articles relating to sports violence and positive sports stories, and identify positive or unsportsmanlike athletes.

They examine the historical perspective of the importance of sports in Chinese culture and create a final project using information about three types of Chinese sports of their choice in the format of a sports mobile.

Students research the ways friction and gravity influence their favorite sport. They view and discuss a short video describing the concepts of friction and constant speed. In partners, they choose a sport such auto racing or bicycling and visually present the ways in which athletes control or use the forces of friction and gravity.
