Students experience an Internet fractal scavenger hunt. They write a report on fractals using the Internet and recording the sites where they are located.

Students identify and analyze fractals and research information using the Internet to locate information about them. Students look at fractals in relation to nature and other real world situations. Students create several types of fractals using various methods on grid paper and poster paper. Questions are included within each section of the lesson for students to respond to.

Students investigate the concept of fractals and practice using some of the applications in geometry. They view COMAP video #16 about the size and shape and practice using graphing calculators and discuss the features of some shapes in accordance with the size.
