Students create their own number patterns to reinforce their understanding of the concept of patterns. They also search for the unexpected guests in each other's patterns.

Students watch "Cyberchase: The Poddleville Case" and analyze patterns. They complete a patterns assignment worksheet and then they make up patterns using numbers, shapes or colors, for their classmates to solve. They use patterns to create rhythms.

Students create their own number patterns and reinforce their understanding of the concept of patterns. After a lecture/demo, students use cuisenaire rods or colored pencils to create their own patterns.

Students look at 100 - chart to see if they can find any patterns in it and discuss. They look for other number patterns and create their own pattern using square designs.

Students identify, describe, copy and construct simple patterns using objects. They use Kid Pix to make an A B pattern or an A A B pattern. More advanced patterns can be learned if the children are understanding the simple A B pattern.
