Percent of Change

Students use the percent of change formula to discover the amount of dirt on their hands before and after washing them. After tracing their hands on grid paper, students use a "dirt indicator" to find the amount of dirt on their hands and record the information. Next, they wash their hands, retest them, trace their hands and indicate the location of the remaining dirt. Students then find the change of percent between the two tests.
