Some problems are so big it takes an entire community to solve them. So was the case in the children's book Humphrey the Lost Whale: A True Story by Wendy Tokuda and Richard Hall. This primary grade lesson uses a class read-aloud of this amazing tale to teach young learners about what is means to be part of a community. A straightforward lesson that would make a great addition a community-themed lesson series in the primary grades.
