Fifth graders take a close look at the food and drinks they consume on a daily basis. They work in small groups to create a "new food product," and keep track of their own food and drink selections on a chart that's embedded in the plan. The goal of this instructional activity is to increase students' awareness of the importance of a healthy diet.
