Three is a Toxic Number

Future public health advocates read a case study of a combination of water pollutants that may be linked to autism. The class is split into three groups, one to research each of the suspected chemicals. The look at how each one affects humans, and then share the information with the rest of the class. Finally, individuals hypothesize in writing about why the synergy of the three combined pollutants affects humans differently. A multi-faceted instructional activity that can be used in a biology, health, or chemistry class as an enrichment.
