Information Collection

Education Planet Inc. requests personally identifiable information from visitors registering for Lesson Planet Memberships. This includes first and last name, email address, school name and zip code. We also collect sensitive financial information during the registration process such as your name, credit card number and billing address. We only collect personally identifiable information from you when you voluntarily submit it. We use this information to, register your account on our Site, process payments, and to contact you about administrative issues like scheduled membership upgrades, membership renewal reminders or membership expiration.

If you allow us, this information is used to contact you with updates on new products and features as well as special promotions from Education Planet and our partners. If you allow us, we will also email you our biweekly Lesson Planet Newsletter.

We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information on children under the age of 13.

Personally Identifiable Information Collected by Teacher Web Tools Users

Education Planet Inc.'s Teacher Web Tools suite of web-based applications is designed for direct use by K-12 educators and indirect use by students and parents. Lesson Planet Members using Teacher Web Tools may utilize the following web tools: TeacherSiteMaker, Online Storage, NewsletterMaker, AssignmentMaker and LessonMaker.

When members use these tools, they may request personally identifiable information from their students and parents, such as email, which constitutes the collection of third party personally identifiable information. This third party personally identifiable information is used to service the requests explicitly made by members of the Site to send information to a third party. We do not share any of the personally identifiable information collected on our Site with third parties for their promotional purposes. We use the information submitted on our Site to fulfill your requests; we do not use any of your information for any purposes where your explicit consent hasn’t been provided.

We post testimonials to our Site that include personally identifiable information; we include your first name, last initial, state and country with your testimonial. We obtain your explicit consent prior to posting your testimonial on our Site. Please note that any personally identifiable information you select to include within your testimonial can be used to send you unsolicited messages. Education Planet Inc. is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you submit within your testimonial.

Reviews & Comments

As an added value feature, Silver and Gold Member subscribers to our Site have the capacity to review the documents presented on our Site. We publish the member’s first name, last initial, city and state with their review. Please be aware any personally identifiable information you submit within your review could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the information a user selects to provide within their review. The Site editors’ reserve the right to delete any comments that may not appropriately relate to the specific lesson available for comment. All comments and reviews voluntarily added to the "Add Comment" area, become the property of Education Planet Inc.

Information Sharing

We share information with our service providers to fulfill your service requests; we use a third party agent to process payments made on our Site. We also use a third party agent to deliver our newsletters.

In the event of an acquisition, merger or sale of all, or some of Education Planet Inc.’s assets, your information may be part of the transferred assets. We shall notify you by email of your choices in how your information is to be used henceforth.

Moreover, we may be required to disclose your personally identifiable information under certain circumstances, such as the discovery of illegal activity on our Site.
