The Israeli army had...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eVoice and effects\u003cbr/\u003eVOICED BY  Katherine Bonner : \u003cbr/\u003ePalestinian shepherds celebrated a Israeli Supreme Court judgement which ruled they could return to live in hillside caves that have been their home for generations.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe Israeli army had been evicting the cave dwellers over the past four months, saying they were squatting in a military zone and had housing in nearby villages. \u003cbr/\u003eThey also accused the Palestinians of bringing in extra people to swell their numbers.\u003cbr/\u003eBut in their appeal, lawyers for cave dwellers argued that many of them have no other shelter besides the caves and said the army was endangering a centuries-old way of life.\u003cbr/\u003eAn investigator will be brought in to decide exactly which individuals have the right to live there. \u003cbr/\u003e00 02 These Palestinian shepherds are enjoying the spring sunshine ahead of a celebration feast. \u003cbr/\u003eThey are marking a victory  in the Israeli Supreme Court two weeks ago which ruled that they do have the right to live here. \u003cbr/\u003e00 15 Food is brought into the caves for the feast - generations of shepherds have lived here, looking after their flocks on the hills of the southern West Bank .\u003cbr/\u003e00 25 But in recent months they've been evicted by the Israeli army which said they were squatting in a military zone.\u003cbr/\u003e00 32 However, lawyers for the shepherds argued that many of them have nowhere else to live except for the caves.\u003cbr/\u003eThey also said the army was endangering a centuries-old way of life. \u003cbr/\u003eAmong the invited guests were Israeli human rights groups and representatives from the Palestinian Authority. \u003cbr/\u003eRabbi Ascherman said the court's ruling was a step in the right direction. \u003cbr/\u003e00 57 SOUNDBITE: (English) \u003cbr/\u003e\"Two week's ago victory is a partial history.
