(March 18)\u003cbr/\u003e[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE]\u003cbr/\u003eThe head of the Senate Judiciary Committee is vowing to get to the bottom of the scandal revolving around the firing of federal prosecutors.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Senator Patrick Leahy \u003cbr/\u003eI want the answers. They can either supply the answers voluntarily or we'll subpoena them. It is as simple as that.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the heart of the matter is the dismissal of these eight attorneys.\u003cbr/\u003eAttorney General Albert Gonzales initially said they were let go because of their performance.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever e-mails between the White House and the Justice Department contradict that and Gonzales has apologized over the handling of the matter.\u003cbr/\u003eNow Democrats want to know if the firings were politically motivated.\u003cbr/\u003eTo find that out they want top White House officials including Karl Rove, to testify.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Leahy\u003cbr/\u003eI intend to have the answers under oath. I am tired of these informal meetings where we don't get the full truth, often times we don't get even the truth.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, some Republicans say there are ways of getting the information without forcing people to testify and question what's motivating Democrats if they ignore those options. \u003cbr/\u003eSen. John Cornyn (r) Texas\u003cbr/\u003e\"if it begins to look like a political witch hunt with issuing subpoenas first without trying to get the cooperation of the administration and get those answers, I think raises questions.\u003cbr/\u003eDemocrats say they'll announce on Thursday whether they'll subpoena anyone.\u003cbr/\u003eThat's the same day Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is set to testify
