Too much. Too long. My very first manuscript that I turned into my editor was 1000 pages long and she got very excited because 'Modelland' is a trilogy and she's like, 'Oh my God! Maybe the whole trilogy is here! I can just break it up into three (books)!' I was like, 'Wendy, there's one story in there. You have to cut it down. There is not three plotlines that can go through 3 books, no. It's one plot line and I just wrote too much.' But then I realized and was told by so many that that's a beginners mistake. Over-writing. So it takes an amazing editor who I have, Wendy Loggia at Random House that just cut, cut, cut, cut, cut and I'll be like 'Please!
