End of press conference\u003cbr/\u003eThe world's most famous detective is being revived by Guy Ritchie and Robert Downey Jr - and they held a press conference Wednesday ( October 1st ) in London to talk about the rebirth of ' Sherlock Holmes '.\u003cbr/\u003eRobert Downey Jr will play the part of Holmes after a spectacular 2008 in the role of  ' Iron Man ', one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.\u003cbr/\u003e\" In case you're not aware I had a hell of a summer, \" the actor quipped to the press, \" and it's made me much more viable to play a lead role than I might have in the past. Ritchie promised a Holmes which was very faithful to the hero of the Arthur Conan Doyle novels:\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're trying to be as authentic as we can to what we see as the original Sherlock Holmes and we think to some degree he was portrayed in not necessarily such an authentic way in some of the previous productions.\" said Ritchie. \u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell are also planning a big screen send-up of Holmes, but Joel Silver, Ritchie's producer, said he was relaxed on that score:\u003cbr/\u003e\"Ours is a serious, fun action picture in 1891.
