Nader and his family.
A private enterprise, the Naders began acquiring Haitian art in 1966, building up a huge collection of painting and sculpture, chronicling Haiti's vibrant history and culture.
But on 12 January 2010, the whole infrastructure of Haiti's capital Port au Prince was brought crashing down by the magnitude-7 earthquake which levelled large areas of the city.
The museum was completely destroyed and it was feared that all the art treasures had been lost, until Georges Nader Jnr decided to investigate.
He said "We cannot let this treasure be buried underneath the rubble. The family wants to help make that dream a reality.
"We, the Naders, we said that, okay we're going to set aside about 500 paintings that will be part of that museum, so this will be part of our contribution.
