Tilt up of easels used by Rivera to work on murals\u003cbr/\u003eA never seen before exhibition of paintings, drawings, postcards, letters and books from the life of Frida Kahlo, will open on Thursday at a museum dedicated to the Mexican artist, which has been set up in her former home in Mexico City. \u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibition covers various aspects of the day to day life of Kahlo, and her husband Diego Rivera. \u003cbr/\u003eDrawing on her personal experiences, her works are often striking in their stark portrayal of pain and the harsh lives of women. \u003cbr/\u003eHer paintings attracted the attention of the artist Diego Rivera whom she later married - the two larger-than-life painters were renowned for their tempestuous relationship, as well as becoming the most acclaimed artists in Mexican history.\u003cbr/\u003eDirector of this Museum, Carlos Phillips Olmedo, said the Blue House Museum and \"Portrait of Diego, by Frida,\" exhibition will display different aspects of the couple's personalities and artistic challenges.\u003cbr/\u003eThe famous Casa Azul - or the Blue House in Mexico City - was home to Kahlo throughout her life.\u003cbr/\u003eShe was born there, she painted there, and she died there. \u003cbr/\u003e\"At this exhibit we will see papers that were in their archives that haven't been seen before, (documents that talk about) Diego Rivera's involvement in social movements, Diego Rivera's photographs, and again rediscover Diego but in a more intimate way,\" said Olmedo.\u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibition has been put together from objects found in 2005, in a closet in the house where Diego and Frida lived.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe closet had been sealed, and could only be opened after the death of Dolores Olmedo, who Diego named in his will as the guardian of his and Kahlo's artwork.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Diego was reviewing these pieces after Frida died to expose them in the museum.
