No plugs, no chargers, just a clean, wire-free environment.  \u003cbr/\u003eEric Giler, the chief executive officer of WiTricity thinks so. \u003cbr/\u003eGiler is demo-ing the wireless home of the future at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and the technology is nothing short of illuminating. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Inside here is a coil of wire and it is creating an oscillating magnetic field that is circular and around it.\"  \u003cbr/\u003eThe idea was developed by an MIT professor that heard his wife's phone beeping all night, and he thought, what if it could access the power supply remotely from the walls, Giler explains.\u003cbr/\u003e\"What WiTricity has developed is a technology that was created by a professor at MIT who was woken up by his wife's cell phone, as it beeped every night, running out of battery power. And when you turn on the bowl, if you look here, we drilled a couple of holes into the side of the camera and the game controller to show you that you are charging those objects while they all sit inside.\" \u003cbr/\u003e WiTricity says the technology enables wireless charging over short distances, with devices ranging from Bluetooth headsets to smartphones to LED TV's.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"Here is a television, which arguably these television sets are one hundred, two hundred watts, something like that, working completely wirelessly. So imagine you could go into your house and just put your television on the wall with no wires at all,\" says Giler. \u003cbr/\u003eWiTricity says its technology can be integrated with any manufacturer's devices, including Apple, Windows and Android based tablets and all-in-one computers.   \u003cbr/\u003eIn the \"Room of the Future\", visitors to CES can see first-hand how WiTricity enabled headsets and other devices can be placed into a wireless charging cup and eliminating the need use traditional charging cords or cradles.   \u003cbr/\u003eBut it's not limited to charging \"stations.\"   \u003cbr/\u003eGiler says the technology can  create a large area charging surfaces. Coils can be placed under the carpet. That way, any device with an embedded coil can then charge if it is within range of the coil.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"Imagine that what you did was placed into the floor, a coil into each one of the pieces of floor tile. So I turn it on, you'll notice that the lamps and the tablet are charging as well. All completely wirelessly.\" \u003cbr/\u003eGiler says the technology can be implemented on virtually any device, even in advertising.
