And the decorations are gold, silver and white.\u003cbr/\u003eBeading is also a big trend this year, and Christmas decorations from wreaths to baubles are decked with intricate beads. \u003cbr/\u003eChristmas came early this year in the United States, as retailers reduced prices ahead of Thanksgiving to encourage the festive shoppers to buy early. \u003cbr/\u003eDoug Berg is the CEO of TrackIf, an online web tracking tool that compares the prices of major retailers. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says that this year has been a tough year for shops. \u003cbr/\u003e\"The retailers are desperate. They had a hard year last year. They had only 26 days from Thanksgiving this year to Christmas. The other thing is, studies show that 65% of people wait until the very end in order to shop. There are only 35% of people that are early shoppers so the retailers are trying to play a whole new game by fast forwarding the retail season to try to encourage earlier behaviour,\" he says. \u003cbr/\u003eBerg says consumer confidence is up in the United States despite jitters in the global economy. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Consumer confidence is much higher this year. We are up over $200 dollars spent this year per family than just two years ago with the economy improving so much so that the average family is going from about $650 dollars per year spent to over $850 per family spent. They will actually closer to $1,200 dollars if you count travel, food and drink and all of the decorations that they will spend additional funds on.\"\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the big interior design trend leaders in the United States is the San Francisco-based Z Gallerie. \u003cbr/\u003eThe trend for tables is a colour block theme, such as white and pale blue, or turquoise and gold.
