Wide of traffic \u003cbr/\u003eTehran's large population depends on cars and other vehicles to get around the huge city. \u003cbr/\u003eBut a shortage of taxis has prompted many commuters to use unregulated so-called 'gypsy cabs' to take them to their destination. \u003cbr/\u003eUnemployed men like Esmaeil Karimi, say that driving people around is a good way to make a living in Tehran. \u003cbr/\u003eEsmaeil used to own a barbecue store, but when his money ran out he began to work as a unlicensed taxi driver. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says that it only needs a small amount of money to buy a car. \u003cbr/\u003eBut the licensed drivers are not happy. \u003cbr/\u003eThe are employed by the Transport Organisation. \u003cbr/\u003eTaxi driver, Mujtaba Mehrabi, says the unlicensed drivers take their passengers, and sometimes they harass customers. But there is no organisation to control and supervise them. \u003cbr/\u003eRising unemployment is forcing more and more men to become 'gypsy cab' drivers. \u003cbr/\u003eAli Salmani drives commuters around the city in his new car,  he says that it is the best way to make a decent living. \u003cbr/\u003e\"We have different problems like not having a special place to pick up and drop passengers.
