This volcano we know from the record, that it killed over 35 thousand people in that time in the Mediterranean and the second it happened 15 BC (Before Christ), just 50 years before the beginning of the new kingdom the remains at the volcano that the lava has been found in this area, proving that archaeology now can fit with the historical records. Even we can study more of the natural disaster that happened in the Pharonic period and we can compare that with archaeology. And I think this is one of the most important discovery that proved that this volcano did destroy many cities in Egypt, many cities in Palestine, many cities in north of Saudi Arabia.\u003cbr/\u003e8. Various of ancient pharaonic pillars\u003cbr/\u003eEgyptian archaeologists unveiled on Monday an 18th dynasty pharaonic fort in the Northern Sinai desert. \u003cbr/\u003eArchaeologists discovered the fort last month as part of a larger, already known structure at the fortress of Thora dating back to the New Kingdom.\u003cbr/\u003eWhat has made the find so interesting is that the Egyptian archaeological team displayed lava stones found at the site which they claim can be sourced back to the Santorini island volcano eruption in the Aegean which is believed to have occurred in 15 BC.\u003cbr/\u003eThe media were also shown other work going on at the Tharo fortress, including the conservation of two female skeletons found buried there which they believe, because of the way the skeletons are positioned, belong to the Hyksos people, who the ancient Egyptians fought.\u003cbr/\u003eZahi Hawass, chief of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities said it was an important discovery as it was the first evidence of lava from the volcano that has reached the Sinai desert.\u003cbr/\u003e\"This volcano we know from the record, that it killed over 35 thousand people in that time in
