businesses lost power.\u003cbr/\u003eThe centre of Wilma's eye made landfall around 0630 local time (1030 GMT) near Cape Romano on an uninhabited island of the same name, 22 miles south of Naples in low-lying Florida Keys, not even 10 percent of the Keys' 78-thousand residents evacuated, a local sheriff said. \u003cbr/\u003eKey West was getting sustained winds of 60 miles per hour (97 kilometres per hour), with gusts of 76 miles per hour (122 kilometres per hour).\u003cbr/\u003eAbout 35 percent of Key West was flooded, including the airport, and no travel was possible in or out of the city. \u003cbr/\u003eForecasters said the low-lying Florida Keys could experience a storm surge of nine feet (2.74 metres), with an 18-foot (5.48 metres) surge possible along parts of the state's southwest corner - where flooding seemed more of a concern than the powerful winds of Wilma, Florida's eighth hurricane in 15 months.\u003cbr/\u003eForecasters also continued to monitor Tropical Depression Alpha on Monday, two days after that system formed off the Dominican Republic. \u003cbr/\u003eAlpha briefly was a tropical storm, the record 22nd named storm for the Atlantic season. \u003cbr/\u003eIt was the first time the hurricane centre exhausted the regular list of names and had to turn to the Greek alphabet.\u003cbr/\u003eAlpha wasn't considered a threat to the United States, and was expected
