with a print circulation of 224,000 and distribution in about 135 countries - woke up on Tuesday to a similar-looking newspaper. \u003cbr/\u003eNovelties include a new masthead, an enhanced Page 2, and opinion pieces by dozens of new international columnists.\u003cbr/\u003ePublisher Stephen Dunbar Johnson said the rebranding is really about going digital and reaching out to readers abroad. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Behind it is the belief we can grow our digital subscription base and that is critical for us because part of our ability to sustain the quality journalism that we produce is going to be in making sure that people pay for that quality journalism,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eFor the launch week, access to the international edition's website, global.nytimes.com, will be free.\u003cbr/\u003eWith many print publications facing competition from social media, bloggers, 24-7 international television newscasts and other outlets, the Times Co. has been shedding assets -
