Speaking at the recent Mipcom event in Cannes, which is dedicated to the TV industry, the actress said \"There's a lot of reality TV which makes me sad because none of...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eAndie MacDowell hates the majority of television out there right now. \u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking at the recent Mipcom event in Cannes, which is dedicated to the TV industry, the actress said \"There's a lot of reality TV which makes me sad because none of it is really real, and I find it so stupid. \"\u003cbr/\u003eThe actress who is Cannes promoting her new TV series, \"Cedar Cove\" which airs on Hallmark, said there is too much emphasis on people trying to push boundaries when it comes to TV.\u003cbr/\u003e\"One things that has happened, because we have so much freedom now on television with cable, is they're pushing the limits, which is very scary for me, for my children, because I have two daughters that want to act. And I just don't know how far they're going to push the limit. And there had to be a place on TV for something wholesome. And a lot of times I believe that people think that more extreme you are, the more risk and chances you take, the more you push it, you're more creative, but I don't think that's necessarily true. That you have to be naked and having sex in front of everyone to be considered to be creative, I think there's creativity in intelligence and dignity as well.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSpeaking about \"Cedar Cove,\" MacDowell said it offers a much needed alternative to what's currently on offer on TV.\u003cbr/\u003e\"This is nice because it's well written, and intelligent, and people that you can relate to and it's healthy and worthwhile and it makes you feel good and lifts you up and it feeds you in a positive way. There's usually good morals to the story and it's not about a serial killer. And it's different than anything that we have on, it's very quality television. There's lacking of great quality television. \"\u003cbr/\u003e\"Cedar Cove\" is based on the book of the same name by Debbie Macomber. It follows the trials and tribulations of court judge Olivia Lockhart (MacDowell) and those who surround her in the small village of Cedar Cove.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think there's something, there's an innocence to 'Cedar Cove' and it makes you feel fresh, \" says MacDowell. \" And so much of television when I watch now, I feel upset and disturbed and unhappy, and 'Cedar Cove' has a very uplifting spirit, but at the same time there are difficult things that happen. The same things that happen to people in real life, like divorce and death, and falling love and falling out of love, all the things that happen in human life.
