Mid of information poster about new bank notes\u003cbr/\u003ePrinted in bright colours and emblazoned with the smiling face of former president Nelson Mandela, a newly-minted set of South African bank notes went into circulation on Tuesday.\u003cbr/\u003eGovernor of the South African Reserve Bank, Gill Marcus, was one of the first to use the new look notes as she bought groceries at a shop in Pretoria. \u003cbr/\u003ePurchasing 160 rands (18 US dollars) worth of goods, Marcus said it was an exciting day for the country.\u003cbr/\u003e\"If you look at it, it's got a very strong theme to it,\" she said. \u003cbr/\u003e\"You've got rock-art painting, you've got very much an African design.
