million) in a Taiwanese publishing venture as part of its strategy to build a Chinese-language media empire.\u003cbr/\u003eTom.com, which is controlled by Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing, said Tuesday that it will take a 49 percent stake in the venture set up with PC Home Publication Group and Cite Publishing Ltd. of Taiwan.\u003cbr/\u003eTom.com said it will use the new venture as its main vehicle for expansion into magazine and book publishing in the greater China region.\u003cbr/\u003eThe company says its aim is to become \"the largest Chinese print media platform, which will grow through acquisitions in mainland China and other parts of the greater China region\".\u003cbr/\u003eThe move marks the first major foray into the print media world for Li Ka-shing, one of Hong Kong's richest men.\u003cbr/\u003eThe tycoon has interests in nearly every other Hong Kong business, including port operations, property development, telecommunications, Internet operations, retail and
