And their personalities are different too, one of them enjoys cold temperatures, so she is always fighting to have the air conditioning turned down. The other one likes the room warm. You know it is this constant tugging, I mean true they learn to live with each other's likes and dislikes, but I think they have come to a point where they have probably felt that they don't want to put up with it any more and they want to try and be their own individuals.\"\u003cbr/\u003e13. Picture of the twins \u003cbr/\u003eTwo 28-year-old Iranian twins who are joined at the head said on Monday that they were elated that their surgeons had agreed to a historic operation to separate them, but added they were nervous about the risks.\u003cbr/\u003ePsychologists have been preparing Laleh and Ladan Bijani to cope with the risks of the surgery, which doctors warn could kill one or both of the women or leave them brain dead, said Dr. Keith Goh, the twins' chief surgeon.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We are happy and excited about the surgery. We're a little nervous as well, but we're more happy than worried,\" Ladan said in a statement. \u003cbr/\u003e\"We have waited so long for this.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe surgery, which has been dubbed \"Operation Hope\", will mark the first time surgeons have tried to separate adult craniopagus twins - siblings born joined at the head, Goh said.\u003cbr/\u003eThe procedure will require a team of 12 surgeons and about 100 nurses and assistants and could take up to four days to complete, said Goh. \u003cbr/\u003eIt is now tentatively scheduled for early July, he said.\u003cbr/\u003eSingapore surgeons will be assisted by Dr. Benjamin Carson, a paediatric neurosurgeon from Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Medical Institution.\u003cbr/\u003eHe gained international fame in 1987 for the first successful separation of craniopagus twins, the hospital said in a statement.\u003cbr/\u003eThe sisters had tried for years to persuade doctors to attempt the procedure, which is extremely difficult because they share a vein that drains blood from their brains.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter a lifetime of sacrifices to accommodate each other, the women have said they do not want to live joined together any longer.\u003cbr/\u003eTheir hopes of living separate lives were rekindled last year when they read that a Singapore surgeon had separated infant twins from Nepal who were similarly fused at the skull. \u003cbr/\u003eThe sisters arrived in Singapore on 20 November from Iran for medical and psychological evaluations.\u003cbr/\u003eOnce separated, Laleh has said she hopes to become a journalist in Tehran, while Ladan wants to earn a graduate degree in law and move back home with their parents in Shiraz.\u003cbr/\u003eThe twins' treatment is expected to cost 500-thousand Singapore dollars (288-thousand US dollars), excluding doctors' fees, which are being waived, the hospital said. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Raffles Medical Group said it would cover the costs of the procedure with the help of
