The patients are the same everywhere, we do not see many people medically affected by the floods,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eIt is estimated that more than 22-thousand people will suffer some form of waterborne disease, officials have said.\u003cbr/\u003eMany locals have lost their homes due to the floods and have been forced to live in makeshift shelters.\u003cbr/\u003eIndia asked doctors to cancel vacations and rushed food and medicine to flooded regions where disease has stricken thousands of people. \u003cbr/\u003eJ.P. Rao, the chief medical officer of Maharajgunj district said they were attempting to keep the spreading of gastroenteritis and other diseases under control.\u003cbr/\u003eThe monsoon season runs from June to September as the rains work their way across the subcontinent.\u003cbr/\u003eAt least 2,090 people have died this year, double the number killed last year.\u003cbr/\u003eNearly six-hundred
