a bid from emerging market nations for more say in negotiations to restructure financial systems worldwide.\u003cbr/\u003eThey also said the G-20 should be transformed into a group with greater responsibility for drawing up rules to prevent future economic meltdowns.\u003cbr/\u003eG-20 ministers made the statement on Sunday at the close of their two-day meeting in Sao Paulo, Brazil, held to discuss the global financial crisis and to propose solutions.\u003cbr/\u003eIt comes ahead of a summit of G-20 leaders next week in Washington, DC.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring a trilateral press conference between the United Kingdom, South Africa and host Brazil, Stephen Timms, British Financial Secretary to the Treasury, said the world needed \"a new approach that is appropriate given these Mantega also called for a more active role for emerging nations in institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. \u003cbr/\u003eEmerging market nations like Brazil, Russia, India and China have said worldwide economic policies developed by rich nations failed to prevent the current economic crisis.\u003cbr/\u003eMantega also said the Financial Stability Forum (FSF) - an advisory body to the G-7 - should be modified to include emerging nations.\u003cbr/\u003eThe FSF is chaired by Bank of Italy Governor Mario Draghi, and has been analysing the credit crisis, and
