Wide of hydrogen fuelling station.\u003cbr/\u003eEnvironmental concerns often feature prominently on the international news agenda. \u003cbr/\u003eConcerns about carbon emissions and political instability in some oil producing regions, has prompted some US car manufacturers to begin to think about designing alternative vehicle fuels. \u003cbr/\u003eThe American love affair with the car, continues unabated. \u003cbr/\u003eBut now more American car owners are concerned about the environmental impact of their car addiction. \u003cbr/\u003e The National Hydrogen Association (NHA) recently held it's annual conference ambitiously slated: \"Global Progress Toward Clean Energy\", in Long Beach, California.  \u003cbr/\u003eHydrogen powered vehicles from major auto makers, like General Motors, Toyota, Honda, Audi and Volkswagen offered rides in these cars of the future.\u003cbr/\u003eThe fuel cell vehicle use hydrogen as a fuel source. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen hydrogen and oxygen are supplied, the fuel cell makes electricity to power the vehicle's electric motor. \u003cbr/\u003eThere are no polluting emissions from the fuel cell, only water and heat.\u003cbr/\u003eJeffrey Serfass is the president of the National Hydrogen Association, a trade group made up of industry, government and academia to promote hydrogen use. \u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English) \u003cbr/\u003e\"With hydrogen you can produce this transportation fuel from wind energy, nuclear energy, coal.
