led by Professor John Collinge - found a chemical \"marker\" in C-J-D which was identical to one in B-S-E.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's not direct proof - that could only come from human experimentation - but it is evidence pointing to a link.\u003cbr/\u003eIn March this year, the emergence of ten cases C-J-D in humans set alarm bells ringing.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's a highly significant finding and it obviously indicates that some humans may be susceptible to BSE in terms of the new variant by eating contaminated beef.\u003cbr/\u003eSUPERCAPTION:   Harriet Coles, journalist from Nature Magazine\u003cbr/\u003eAs Prime Minister John Major continued to reassure people over the safety of British beef, Food Minister Angela Browning said scientists weren't yet in a position to predict accurately the outcome of the findings. \u003cbr/\u003eEven with this latest piece of information, they're not yet in a position to predict accurately what the outcome may be.
