But they were wonderful, his mother let us shoot in their apartment when we made Marty's first 35 millimetre feature film, which was while he was a student at NYU and she gave us the apartment to shoot in. The name of the film was 'Who's That Knocking at my Door' and during the course of the shooting Marty's father came home from work and found us shooting in the apartment and he started to scream 'what the hell are you doing? Get out of here!.' He was very very upset. But he permitted us to finish the shooting after the mother had calmed him down and of course went on to always champion Marty's work as his mother did.\"\u003cbr/\u003e7. Festival video clip \u003cbr/\u003eThe Czech Republic's prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival kicked off  with a ceremony honouring Harvey Keitel.\u003cbr/\u003eKeitel, 64, an intense, brooding force in some of Hollywood's best movies of the last 30 years, accepted an award for outstanding contribution to world cinema with a moving speech about the mission of actors and filmmakers that left veteran festgoers buzzing. \u003cbr/\u003eKeitel recognised ex-Czech president Vaclav Havel, an opening-night dignitary (Keitel and Havel were later spotted bonding in a long tete-a-tete), and capped the speech with a request for a moment of silent recognition that Marlon Brando had died -- news for many in the opening night audience. \u003cbr/\u003eBrooklyn-born Keitel came to prominence in the early films of Martin Scorsese after working in theatre for around ten years, particularly Mean Streets'  and 'Taxi Driver'. He faded into anonymity in the eighties. \u003cbr/\u003eHe re-emerged into star status with his role as Mr. White in 'Quentin Tarantino' 's Reservoir Dogs in 1992 , Abel Ferrara 's 'Bad Lieutenant'  and 'The Piano.'\u003cbr/\u003eOther bravura performance included the philosophical cigar shop manager in 'Smoke,' a psychotic gangster in 'Bugsy' and the unforgettable cameo as 'The Cleaner' in 'Pulp Fiction.'\u003cbr/\u003eHe wasn't the only celebrity enjoying a festival that has become a cosy favourite on the circuit for many regulars.
